IPL 2023: The match between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings abandoned by rain

The 45th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) which was scheduled for today has been abandoned by rain.

The match was started at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. But, the game was delayed at 19.2 overs of LSG due to the rain. Then, the match couldn’t be completed and got abandoned officially.

Chennai Super Kings had won the toss in the match and elected to field first.

Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants had made 125 runs at the loss of seven wickets in 19.2 overs before the match got interrupted and abandoned due to the rain.

While making 125 runs for the team, Ayush Badoni was the top run-scorer for the team with 59 runs in 33 deliveries followed by Nicholas Pooran with 20 runs in 31 deliveries which is again followed by Kyle Mayers with 14 runs in 17 deliveries. Manan Vohra was the only other batter from the team to score in double-digits in the match who scored 10 runs in 11 deliveries.

Moeen Ali, Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana took two wickets each for Chennai Super Kings in the match with Ravindra Jadeja taking a wicket. Matheesha Pathirana was at 3.2 overs in the last over of the game when the rain interrupted the match.

Both LSG and CSK shared a point each after the match couldn’t get a result.
