The owner of Lahore Qalandars, Atif Rana, has revealed that the team’s captain, Shaheen Shah Afridi, is designing the kit for the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Rana stated that Afridi is not only the team’s leader, but he is also preparing the new kit for the Qalandars. He added that Afridi is designing the best kit just like he takes wickets and that his kit design will blow away everyone’s senses. Rana hopes that all fans will like this new kit design.
The PSL 8 is set to commence on February 13, with the defending champions, Lahore Qalandars, taking on the 2021 champions, Multan Sultans, in the opening clash at the Multan Cricket Stadium after the opening ceremony. Matches will be hosted in different cities of Pakistan, including Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Lahore. Rawalpindi will stage 11 fixtures, Karachi and Lahore will host nine matches each, whereas Multan will have five home games.
It is worth noting that under Shaheen’s captaincy, Qalandars clinched their first-ever PSL title after beating Multan Sultans in the final of the seventh edition of the tournament in 2022. This achievement showcases Afridi’s leadership and ability to lead the team to victory, adding to the excitement of the new kit design.
The Lahore Qalandars’ squad includes players such as Rashid Khan, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, David Wiese, Abdullah Shafique, Kamran Ghulam, Zaman Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Hussain Talat, Sikandar Raza, Liam Dawson, Dilbar Hussain, Mirza Tahir Baig, Ahmed Danlyal, Shawaiz Irfan, Jordan Cox, Jalat Khan, Ahsan Bhatti, and partial replacements such as Shane Dadswell and Sam Billings, Kusal Mendis.
