Ishan Kishan shared a balanced and honest assessment after the match, expressing mixed emotions about his own performance while praising the collective effort of his team. The wicketkeeper-batter admitted he was not satisfied with how he played but remained encouraged by the overall team commitment and energy on the field.
He highlighted that every player contributed with intent, creating a positive atmosphere that helped the side perform as a unit. According to Kishan, the pitch conditions were not ideal, which made batting slightly challenging. However, strong performances from Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma turned the game in their favor early on.
Kishan pointed out that the powerplay proved to be a decisive phase. The aggressive start allowed the rest of the batting lineup to settle in, rotate the strike, and build momentum. He also credited Klaasen for finishing strongly, emphasizing that the win was a true team effort.
Speaking about key bowling moments, Kishan acknowledged the threat posed by Finn Allen but praised Harsh Dubey for holding his nerve under pressure. He described the wicket as a turning point, noting that a bit of luck also played its part.
He went on to commend young talents like Harsh Dubey and Shivang Kumar. Kishan highlighted Harsh’s consistent performances in domestic cricket and his composure in difficult situations. He also appreciated Shivang’s hard work, especially his willingness to learn from coaches and execute plans effectively, even against aggressive batters like Rinku Singh.
Despite the victory, Kishan identified fielding as an area that needs immediate improvement. He stressed that conceding unnecessary extras can prove costly in tight matches and emphasized the need for better discipline in this department.
