Islamabad United has appointed Azhar Mehmood as their new head coach for the Team. Azhar Mahmood was the bowling coach of the Pakistan Cricket Team and under his coaching team remains No 1 in T20 Ranking as well. Islamabad United is one of the most successful team of the PSL as they got the trophy two times till now and they are always looking for the opportunity to win the tournament.
Azhar Mahmood has done a great job during his tenure with Micky Author for the Pakistani Cricket team coaching and now with the post of head coach for the PSL franchise he will be looking forward to showing his skills.
Even the Captain of Islamabad United has a warm welcome to the former Coach in his tweet.
Azhar Mahmood has played 164 matches for the Pakistan Cricket team and also he has played many of the leagues in the world. He was part of Islamabad United’s title-winning squad in HBL PSL 1. Following his playing career, he has gone on to have a successful coaching career in the PSL as part of the staff of Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans.

I feel very proud after getting the post of head coach of Islamabad United. The franchise and the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are quite close to my heart as my hometowns. United have always paved the way and provided a platform for emerging players, from Shadab to Asif to most recently Wasim, all started their careers here.
