Jaffna Kings moved to the top of the table with a convincing win over Galle Titans. They were always in control of the chase, thanks to a brilliant batting display from Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Towhid Hridoy. Dunith Wellalage bowled an exceptional bowling spell enabling his team to restrict the opposition to a modest total.
Gurbaz started off with a four and never looked back, smashing 54 off 39 balls with three fours and five sixes. Hridoy was equally impressive, scoring 44* off 23 balls with three fours and two sixes. The two of them added 83 off 52 for the second wicket, and the chase was almost done there.
Only Shakib Al Hasan had two wickets to show for in an otherwise colorless bowling effort from Galle Titans. The Titans’ bowlers were unable to contain the Jaffna batsmen, who scored at a brisk pace throughout the innings.
Jaffna Kings will be hoping to continue their good form in the upcoming matches, while Galle Titans will need to find a way to improve their bowling if they want to challenge for the title.
