The Manchester Originals are through to the final of The Hundred! They produced a stunning batting display to chase down 197 with four balls to spare, setting a new record for the highest successful chase in the competition.
Phil Salt set the tone with a blistering 47 from 17 balls before Jos Buttler took over with an imperious 82 from 46 balls. Tom Holden and Laurie Evans then chipped in with useful contributions, as the Originals cruised to victory.
Southern Brave had earlier posted a challenging 196, thanks to fifties from Finn Allen, Devon Conway, and James Vince. However, their bowlers were unable to contain the Originals’ batting, as they were taken apart to all parts of the ground.
This was a truly dominant display from the Originals, and they will be the favorites to win the final. They have a batting lineup that is capable of scoring big runs, and their bowlers have shown that they can defend any total.
The Originals will now face Oval Invincibles in the final, tomorrow.
The Originals are now one step away from lifting the trophy, and they will be determined to make it happen.
