The Trinbago Knight Riders won their first match of the 2023 Massy Women’s Premier League (WCPL) by defeating the previously unbeaten Barbados Royals by 13 runs. This victory keeps the Knight Riders’ hopes of reaching the final alive.
The Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bat first. They made a strong start to their innings, scoring 33 runs in the first two overs. They continued to score at a good pace throughout their innings, eventually finishing at 155-3.
Gaby Lewis top-scored for the Royals with 62 runs, but it was not enough to prevent their defeat. The Knight Riders’ bowlers bowled tightly throughout the innings, and they were able to restrict the Royals to 142-7.
