Lahore Qalandars, two-time winners of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have announced a list of foreign players who will represent them in the inaugural Global Super League. The global tournament will take place between November 26 and December 7, with five international teams competing in Guyana.

Lahore Qalandars have added South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi and West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite to their roster. Adding to the group will be the English trio of Adam Rossington, Tom Abell, and Luke Wells. This potpourri of players will help bring a title to the Qalandars’ trophy collection for this multi-franchise T20 event.

It hasn’t announced any local players in the team yet. Important stars like Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Fakhar Zaman are unlikely to participate as they are engaged with the Pakistan National team. Their international schedule is very tight and does not have any space to let them join the GSL.

The management had roped in former English pacer Darren Gough as head coach for the tournament. Gough takes over from Aqib Javed, who has just been inducted into Pakistan’s national selection committee. Optimistic that Gough would bring the experience to give them an upper edge, the management feels.

Features comprise Bangladesh, Australia, England, and Caribbean team teams along with Qalandars. With the rivalry between Rangpur Riders, Victoria, Hampshire, and Guyana Amazon Warriors, it is going to be fantastic cricket for sure.

Lahore Qalandars will be itching to make their mark upon this new stage and build out of their PSL success. This side hopes that their mix of internationally experienced talent along with up-and-coming local talent will earn them results in Guyana.

Fan interest in the action intensified when Lahore was to play the world. The franchise was not letting go of the trophy and was eyeing to set a benchmark for its debut season.
