The Caribbean Premier League has grown to be one of the most exciting T20 cricket tournaments from its first season in 2013. As we turn into this year’s 12th edition, the tournament will kick off on August 30. In this article, we will take a look at all cpl winners who have ruled for the last glorious decade.

No team has dominated CPL glory like the Trinbago Knight Riders. With four titles to their name in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2020, they have turned out to be the most successful franchise in the history of the league. Consistency and firepower have led them to reach five final appearances, which makes them a force to reckon with in every season. They won the 2015 season under the previous name Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel and the rest three under the new name.

Close behind are the Jamaica Tallawahs, reigning champions for the third time in the CPL in 2013, 2016, and 2022. They are aggressive in their game style, and the Tallawahs have made life tough in the tournament, managing four final entries to stamp their class as one of the tournament’s sturdiest. However, they are no more part of the league and are replaced by Antigua and Barbuda Falcons for the 12th season.

The Barbados Royals, formerly the Barbados Tridents, have two championships won in 2014 and 2019 and two runners-up in 2015 and 2022. This team has seen many ups and downs but proved its potential to come into the finale. As Royals, they have zero trophies to their name, and will look to add one under their cabinet.

Guyana Amazon Warriors may just be the unluckiest side in the history of the CPL. They reached six finals, but that was in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, and with this recent one, 2023. They have owned the title once only in 2023. Of all these repeated near misses, they remain the team in all of CPL history to have the most runner-up finishes, a record that they would like to change so much in the future.

The St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel (now defunct and rebranded as the Trinbago Knight Riders) follow closely with one title each. The Patriots have won their only title in 2021; regarding the Red Steel, this was achieved in 2015 before they were rebranded as mentioned above.
