The Karachi Kings have launched a new anthem ahead of their first game against Peshawar Zalmi in the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The anthem, titled ‘Ye Hai Karachi’, features popular artists Asim Azhar, Ali Azmat, and Raamis Ali and showcases the team’s excitement and passion for the game. The anthem video also includes performances from Kings’ players, including their captain Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, and Sharjeel Khan.
Under Imad’s leadership, the Kings won their first PSL title in 2020, with Babar Azam being named the Player of the Tournament. However, in the 2022 season, the Kings had a poor run of form, losing nine out of ten matches, leading to Babar being traded to Peshawar Zalmi, and Imad regaining the captaincy.
Despite Babar’s departure, Imad has expressed confidence in his team and their ability to perform in the upcoming season. During a press conference in Karachi, Imad emphasized the team’s commitment to their performance, saying that players come and go, but the team remains focused on winning matches.
Imad also clarified that Babar’s trade was the team owner’s decision and had nothing to do with him. He stated that the franchise’s primary objective is to win matches, and everything else is secondary.
The Kings are looking forward to an exciting PSL season, with their new anthem setting the tone for their passionate and energetic approach to the game.
