Mitchell Marsh made a stunning T20I debut as captain, hitting a career-best 92 not out to lead Australia to a crushing 111-run win over South Africa.
Marsh’s knock was the cornerstone of Australia’s 226 for 6 after they were sent into bat.
The 30-year-old all-rounder hit 11 sixes in his 49-ball innings and put on a series of key partnerships with Matt Short and Tim David.
Matt Short made 20, while Tim David scored 64.
South Africa were bowled out for 115 in reply, with debutant leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha taking four wickets.
The win is Australia’s first in a T20I against South Africa since 2016.
