Matthew Short has officially signed up for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025) player draft.

Australian cricketer Matthew Short has officially signed up for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025) player draft. The league announced this news on Monday through their social media, where it was captioned: “Australian explosive batter Matthew Short enters the HBL PSL Draft.”

The 29-year-old is known for his explosive performances in T20 cricket. So far, Short has played 14 T20I matches for Australia and amasses 293 runs with a strike rate of 163.68, which includes a half-century. He has also been an important part of various franchise leagues, such as the Big Bash League (BBL), The Hundred, Major League Cricket (MLC), and the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In the BBL alone, Short has scored 2,033 runs from 82 matches with a strike rate of 140.69. His tally includes 14 fifties and one century. Currently playing for the Adelaide Strikers in this season’s BBL, Short’s inclusion in the PSL draft adds significant firepower to the tournament.

Matthew Short signs for PSL 10 player draft, becomes fourth Australian cricketer to do so

Short becomes the fourth Australian and the 19th foreign player to register for the PSL 10 draft. The draft, a milestone for the league, will be held in Balochistan for the first time. The coastal city of Gwadar is going to host the event on January 11, 2025, marking a historic moment for the PSL.

The draft pick order is also announced. Lahore Qalandars, the two-time champions, will pick first in the platinum category followed by Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Islamabad United.

Notably, the PSL 10 player draft has already attracted several international big players like Alex Hales, Rilee Rossouw, Shakib Al Hasan, and Jason Roy. Hence, with such star-studded registrations, PSL 10 is promising to provide action-packed cricket.
