Mickey Arthur has some advice for Pakistan Team ahead of WTC new cycle

Pakistan’s team director, Mickey Arthur, expressed his congratulations to the national squad for their selection in the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka. Leading the supporting staff, Arthur took to Twitter to encourage the players to kick off the new cycle of the ICC Test Championship with a strong performance.

“Congrats guys… start the new Test Championship with a bang!” Arthur’s tweet read, exuding confidence in the team’s abilities.

This Test tour to Sri Lanka will mark Arthur’s first assignment since signing a contract with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Grant Bradburn will serve as the head coach of the national team, with Andrew Puttick as the batting coach and Morne Morkel as the bowling coach, all accompanying the team during the Sri Lanka tour.

Excitingly, young talents Mohammad Hurraira and Aamer Jamal have received their maiden Test call-ups, showcasing the team’s commitment to nurturing emerging players. Additionally, the experienced pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has made a comeback to the Test squad. With these developments, Pakistan is all set to embark on the third cycle of the ICC World Test Championship next month in Sri Lanka.

The Pakistan squad for the Test series includes notable players such as Babar Azam as captain, Mohammad Rizwan as vice-captain and wicketkeeper, and a balanced mix of talented individuals like Abdullah Shafique, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, and more.

The expected schedule for the Test series outlines the following matches:

  • First Test: July 16-20
  • Second Test: July 24-28
