The Guyana Amazon Warriors have secured the services of England international Moeen Ali as a replacement player for their 2024 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season. Moeen, a former England captain, will be stepping in for Saim Ayub, the Pakistan batsman who is unavailable for this season.
Moeen’s availability will be contingent on his team’s progression in the T20 Blast in the UK, as he juggles commitments between the two competitions.
In the meantime, New Zealand’s Tim Robinson has been selected as a temporary replacement for Moeen. Once Moeen arrives, Robinson, a 22-year-old talent, will continue to be part of the squad, filling in as a temporary replacement for Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
Gurbaz, the explosive Afghanistan opener, will depart the Warriors’ squad for international duties following the Barbados leg of the competition. Robinson will take over his role until Gurbaz rejoins the squad for the Guyana leg of the tournament.
This shuffle ensures the defending champions, Guyana Amazon Warriors, maintain a strong squad throughout the tournament as they look to defend their title.
