In a high-voltage game, played between Pakistan and India last night, Indian bowler Arshadeep Singh dropped a catch of Asif Ali in the 18th over of the run-chase and faced a lot of criticism on social media. Pakistan won the game by 5 wickets with 1 ball to spare.
In the 18th over, on the bowling of Ravi Bishnoi, Asif Ali tried to heave over long-on but only miscued and the ball flies towards short-third man, where Arshdeep was set to take an easy catch. Eventually, Arshdeep failed to hold that catch.
After that costly miss by Arshdeep Singh, Asif Ali added 16 crucial runs to the run-chase. Pakistan’s former Captain and allrounder Mohammad Hafeez shared a tweet in the support of Arshdeep Singh.
“My request to all Indian team fans. In sports we make mistakes as we r human. Please don’t humiliate anyone on these mistakes” Hafeez wrote.
No doubt in every game some players make mistakes, but going to hit any individual at this pace isn’t good for any athlete.
Apart from Hafeez, other International cricketers came in support of Poor Arshdeep
