The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially rescheduled the Player Draft for the landmark 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The draft will now take place on January 13 at Lahore’s historic Huzoori Bagh, within the iconic Lahore Fort.
Originally planned for Gwadar, the event was relocated due to unforeseen logistical difficulties. However, Gwadar will still play a significant role in the PSL 10 Trophy Tour, set to take place in March, as it travels across Pakistan.
The much-anticipated PSL season 10 is scheduled to be held from April 8 to May 19, 2025. The six participating franchises will finalize their squads during the Player Draft, assembling some of the biggest cricketing stars at the heritage site in Lahore.
Franchise Retentions Revealed
Ahead of the Player Draft, all six teams announced their player retentions on January 4. Each team was allowed to retain up to eight players from their previous squads. While Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, and Lahore Qalandars retained the maximum eight players, Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, and Peshawar Zalmi retained seven players each.

- Islamabad United: Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah (Platinum); Imad Wasim (mentor), Azam Khan (Diamond); Salman Ali Agha (Brand Ambassador), Haider Ali (Gold); Colin Munro, Rumman Raees (Silver).
- Multan Sultans: Mohammad Rizwan, Usama Mir (Platinum); David Willey (mentor), Iftikhar Ahmed (Brand Ambassador), Usman Khan (Diamond); Chris Jordan (Gold); Faisal Akram (Silver).
- Peshawar Zalmi: Babar Azam, Saim Ayub (Platinum); Mohammad Haris (Diamond); Arif Yaqoob, Mehran Mumtaz, Sufyan Moqim (Silver); Ali Raza (Emerging).
- Quetta Gladiators: Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Amir (mentor), Rilee Rossouw (Diamond); Akeal Hosein, Saud Shakeel (Brand Ambassador), Mohammad Wasim Jr. (Gold); Khawaja Muhammad Nafay, Usman Tariq (Silver).
- Karachi Kings: Hasan Ali, James Vince (Diamond); Muhammad Irfan Khan, Shan Masood (Gold); Arafat Minhas (Brand Ambassador); Tim Seifert, Zahid Mehmood (Silver).
- Lahore Qalandars: Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman (Platinum); Haris Rauf (Brand Ambassador), Sikandar Raza (Diamond); Abdullah Shafique, Jahandad Khan, Zaman Khan (Gold); David Wiese (Silver).
The PSL 10 season is already generating excitement among fans, with the Player Draft expected to set the tone for a competitive and thrilling tournament.
