The final of the EPIC Group All Star Series 2.0 was held today between the finalists Kowloon Lions and New Territories Tigers. New Territories Tigers (NTT) beat Kowloon Lions (KL) to lift the title of the EPIC Group All Star Serie 2.0.
Winning the toss, Kowloon Lions (KL) chose to bat first in the game. Batting first, they made 130/6 in 20 overs. Waqas Barkat was the high scorer for the team as he scored 45 runs off 37 balls. Zeeshan Ali was the second high scorer for the team scoring 32 runs off 37 balls. Nizakat Khan 14(18), Jayden Botfield 5(6), Nasrulla Rana 9(5), Abdul Samad 4(8) and Parth Bhagwat 12(7) were the other players scoring in the inning. Yasim Murtaza went duck in the game.
NTT used Ayush Shukla, Dan Pascoe, Akbar Khan, Mudassar Hussain and Mohammad Waheed to bowl against KL. Bowling the full quota of four overs each, Ayush, Dan, Akbar and Mohammad took 1, 1, 2 and 2 wickets each. Mudassar didn’t have any wickets in today’s game. NTT conceded 9 runs as extras to KL in the final game.
Coming to bat second in the final match, NTT opened with Mohammad Ishaq and Ehsan Ayaz. They made 29(37) and 12(18) respectively. Captain Babar Hayat made 27 runs off 26 balls. Akbar Khan, Waqas Khan and Dan Pascoe made 17(17), 23(16) and 7(3) respectively. With the 15 extras from team KL, NTT won the game in the final over as they made 133/4 on board in 19.3 overs.
KL used five bowlers against NTT in the final match of the series. Sheryar Khan, Nasrulla Rana, Finn Ridley, Waqas Barkat and Yasim Murtaza were the bowlers used by the team KL. Nasrulla Rana took two wickets for the team. Sheryar Khan and Waqas Barkat joined him with one wicket each.
The game was played in Mission Road Ground, Mong Kok, Hong Kong. Waqas Barkat was the Player Of The Match. He had made 45 runs off 37 balls and also took a wicket in the game conceding 25 runs bowling 3.3 overs.
