Nestled in Eisenhower Park, Nassau County, a mere 30 miles east of Manhattan, this ambitious project has already commenced its journey to completion. Site fencing has been erected, and outfield work is currently underway, with an ambitious target of finishing construction within the next three months.
Designed by the renowned architectural firm Populous, celebrated for its iconic stadium designs across the globe, the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium promises to deliver a world-class experience. The venue will feature premium and general admission seating, VIP and hospitality suites, a party deck, and luxurious cabanas, ensuring a memorable outing for spectators.
Sustainability lies at the heart of this project, with grandstands repurposed from the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix and infrastructure work slated to commence in February, further underlining the commitment to eco-friendly practices.
A major highlight of the stadium is the drop-in square wicket, curated in Florida, which will be transported to New York in early May. The outfield, developed by the esteemed Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions and the LandTek Group, is also set to enhance the playing experience.
Fans can look forward to a dedicated fan zone equipped with a variety of food and beverage outlets, alongside cutting-edge media and broadcast facilities, ensuring an immersive and unforgettable cricketing experience.
The stadium will serve as the epicenter of cricketing action during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, hosting eight matches from June 3 to 12. These matches will feature marquee encounters such as India vs Pakistan and the host nation USA taking on India.
Geoff Allardice, the Chief Executive of the International Cricket Council (ICC), emphasizes the significance of this stadium ahead of the tournament, highlighting partnerships with world-class suppliers to deliver an unparalleled experience for fans.
