Pakistan have declared their unwavering ambition to lift the T20 World Cup trophy, setting their sights beyond individual matches like their upcoming clash with India on June 9th in the United States.

Iftikhar Ahmed, a key member of the Pakistani squad, emphasized this goal, stating, “Our target is not India or Canada, we just want to win the T20 World Cup and our team is fully capable of it.” He expressed unwavering confidence in his team’s potential, highlighting their ability to emerge victorious in the tournament.

Further praising the team’s star batsman, Babar Azam, Iftikhar declared, “Babar Azam is the best batter in the world. He plays according to the situation of the match.” This sentiment underscores Azam’s crucial role in the team’s success.

Responding to criticism regarding his batting performance in a recent match, Iftikhar defended himself, stating, “Do justice, [I] couldn’t do much for one match and everyone is saying I cannot hit sixes. It doesn’t matter who hit sixes, the goal is to win the World Cup. If all the players start hitting them, then 500 runs would be made.” He emphasized the collective effort required to achieve their ultimate goal.

Fakhar Zaman, another prominent player, echoed the team’s readiness for the World Cup, confirming, “Professional players are always ready, our preparations for the World Cup are complete.” He expressed his willingness to bat at number four, showcasing the team’s adaptability in batting order.

Zaman also highlighted the positive impact of including Azam Khan and Iftikhar in the middle order, stating, “The inclusion of Azam Khan and Iftikhar has made us better.”

Pakistan seem determined to break their cycle of reaching only the semi-finals in major tournaments. As Zaman expressed, “We have not won a big tournament for a long time. We talk in the dressing room that we have reached the semi-finals of tournaments. This time, we plan to cross that line and this is what we have prepared for a long time.”

With a clear vision, unwavering confidence, and a focus on collective achievement, Pakistan are poised for a strong showing in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
