Batting first Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam perished cheaply for nine. While the top-ranked T20I batter, Mohammad Rizwan scored 63 off 46 deliveries with the help of two boundaries and three sixes. Shan failed to produce any good results and scored seven off eight deliveries. Following his dismissal, the rest of the middle-order side began to lose wickets at a frustrating rate. Mark Wood led the bowling attack for England as he returned with bowling figures of 3/20, while Sam Curran and David Willey bagged two each.

Dawid Malan scored 36 runs in 35 balls but Iftikhar trapped him for an lbw. England’s stand-in skipper Moeen played a fighting knock, scoring 51 runs in 37 balls. Debutant, Aamir Jamal bowled two overs and claimed a wicket while giving away 14 runs. Meanwhile, Haris Rauf claimed two wickets, while Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Mohammad Wasim Jr took a scalp each.
