The English openers – Alex Hales and Phil Salt – laid a solid foundation for a massive total as they scored 39 runs in 4 overs. Malan and Brook combined magnificently for a blistering 108-run partnership for the fourth wicket. The pair took on Pakistan bowlers and enjoyed three dropped catches by the Men in Green. Malan top-scored for the side with a terrific knock of 78 off 47 deliveries, laced with eight boundaries and three sixes. Right-arm pacer Mohammad Hasnain was Pakistan’s only bowler to pick a wicket.
Pakistan did not get off to an ideal start in their chase of 210 as skipper Babar Azam was sent back to the pavilion in the very first over. Shan Maqsood was Pakistan’s top scorer, scoring 56 runs off 43 balls. The failures of Babar and Rizwan again exposed the shortcomings of their middle order. England came up with a perfect all-round performance to defeat Pakistan by 67 runs in the seventh T20I. With this, the visitors won the series 4-3.
