Imam-ul-Haq defended his national teammate Khushdil Shah on Twitter. Khushdil Shah was bullied by the crowd during the seventh T20I between Pakistan and England. ‘Parchi, Parchi’ was chanted by the whole crowd as soon as Khushdil was dismissed. Reportedly, the cricketer was upset after this moment.
Tweeting on Twitter, Imam showed support to Khushdil against crowd ranting.
“I would like to request our fans to avoid such rants at any player as it can badly impact the player’s health and try to support them like you always do, regardless of the results. We play for you, we play for Pakistan. Stay blessed,” he tweeted.
Khushdil scored 63 runs in five matches at an average of 21. He has failed to score runs in the shorter format for a long time now.
On the other hand, Imam was also a victim of the crowd’s ranting for a long time. Imam was labeled as ‘Parchi’ because people believed his selection was highly influenced by the former chief selector and cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq who is his uncle.
