The Pakistan Cricket Board has officially opened the registration window for overseas players ahead of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League. The tournament, scheduled from April 9 to May 19, 2025, is already creating excitement among cricket enthusiasts worldwide.
The PCB on Thursday said the category renewals of players would be released next Tuesday while retention and relegation would be held later this month. The highly anticipated player draft for PSL 10 will be on January 11, 2025. However, the venue for the player draft has yet to be announced.
There is speculation that the draft might be held abroad for the first time, with suggestions of England or Dubai as a venue. The move will expand the league’s appeal globally and attract a larger audience.

PSL CEO Salman Naseer said that the opening of the overseas player registration window was an exciting milestone in anticipation of the upcoming season. “We are thrilled to kick off preparations for the landmark 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League,” he said.
He emphasized the league’s growth since its launch in 2016, highlighting the collaboration between the PCB, franchise owners, and commercial partners. “The HBL PSL has become a celebrated brand, delivering top-notch cricket. Our focus remains on meeting the high expectations of our fans. The 10th season will undoubtedly bring more thrills and unforgettable moments,” Naseer added.
The PSL has, over the years, witnessed very strong competition from its teams. Islamabad United stands tall with three titles. Lahore Qalandars comes second with two titles. The remaining teams, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, and Multan Sultans, have won one title each.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for the start of the action-packed season with its promise of great cricket and some unforgettable moments, with the countdown officially starting.
