The Perth Scorchers have made a significant signing in securing the services of Australian fast bowler Stella Campbell for the next two seasons of WBBL.
Campbell is a towering quick who generates significant bounce and bowls with noteworthy pace. She has already represented Australia at international level, making her ODI debut in 2021 and her Test debut a week later.
Campbell’s signing will bolster the Scorchers’ fast bowling stocks, which already includes experienced pair Taneale Peschel and Piepa Cleary, and captain Sophie Devine.
Campbell is excited to join the Scorchers and is looking forward to learning from the experienced players on the list. She believes that her pace and bounce will be well suited to the WACA Ground and is eager to play in front of the Scorchers’ fans.
The Scorchers will begin their WBBL|09 season with a two-match road trip against the Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat, before returning home to host the Hurricanes on 25 October at the WACA Ground.
Campbell’s signing is a coup for the Scorchers and will give them a significant boost to their chances of winning a sixth WBBL title.
