In what can be called as the recent developments of Pakistan Super League (PSL 2023), it has been learned that Sir Vivian Richards is likely to return as Quetta Gladiators’ mentor. The cricketing great has been associated with the franchise since the inaugural edition of the marquee league, in 2016.
According to QG’s team manager Azam Khan, there have been some issues with Richard’s visa processing. However, as soon as things are done, Richards will join the Purple Force as the mentor.
“We have applied for Sir Viv Richards’ visa but there are some issues with process. However, we have filed all the necessary documents and are hopeful that he will join the side soon,”
The manager further revealed that Richards is excited to join the team.

Vivian of West Indies, who was considered the greatest batter of his time, had represented his country between 1974 and 1991. He featured in 121 Tests and 187 ODIs, amassing 8540 and 6721 runs, respectively, in the formats.
As far as Gladiators’ situation in PSL 2023 is concerned, they are placed fifth on the points table, just above Lahore Qalandars, with two points. Out of three matches played, they have managed to win a single and are optimistic of winning the upcoming ventures.
