According to recent reports, foreign cricketers representing five teams in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have received 70% of their salaries. The sixth team is expected to receive their payment on Monday. Additionally, cheques have already been issued to the local players of four teams.
Sources have revealed that the finance department is waiting for information from the franchises regarding the local players of the remaining two teams. Despite this delay, a team official has stated that they are not concerned as the payments are made by the PCB and not the franchises.
The PCB has confirmed that the delay has nothing to do with the country’s economic situation and that they have sufficient funds to pay for the PSL.
Cheques were supposed to be handed over to local players of the four teams in Islamabad on the previous day. However, the finance department is still waiting for information regarding the remaining two teams. The PCB has assured that payment will be made within 24 hours of receiving this information.
By Monday, all foreign cricketers will have received 70% of their salaries, and Pakistan players will also receive the same amount during the same week. It is important to note that the remaining 30% will be paid after the event as per the agreed procedure.
All players participating in the PSL have already received their daily allowance, which was paid at the rate of 11,000 Pakistani rupees per day. This has been calculated as approximately 50 US dollars.
