Here’s a statement by Renuka Singh in the Press Conference after the match between England Women and India Women:

I didn’t that these are the [bowling figures in a T20 World Cup, male or female]. Because I wasn’t thinking about five wickets. Actually, for a many time, I was not able to hit on the right areas. I was thinking about hitting the right areas.

I had discussed with Troy earlier that I have not been able to take wickets in the power play. I had practised and was able to execute this today.

We had discussed that batters are reading beforehand and that I am bowling inswing. Thereby we practised on straight ones, outswingers, and slower ones.

Actually, I think that the wicket was good for bowling, for a pace attack. Maybe, we had given 10-15 runs more. We knew we would have a good match against England.

Richa was playing well. She has been in good form.

Troy Cooley had told us the wicket is quite good and you have to hit the right areas and you will get wickets. I am enjoying working with him.

Whenever I enjoy, I perform well. Even Troy tells me that enjoy it. Earlier I had not been performing well, but then Smriti came to talk to me.

Harry Di backs me not only in bowling but also helps with personal things. She tells me positive things.

I had worked on yorkers and fitness [to succeed in death overs]. I try to bowl as many yorkers.

Renuka Singh has played 3 matches in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 so far and has bowled 11 overs in total, conceded 61 runs in the overs and taken 6 wickets in total. Her best bowling figure in the world cup is 5/15 against England Women which happened on 18 February 2023.
