Rwanda and Botswana added two points each in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier Group A event

The second day of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier Group A happened today. There were four matches scheduled for today in the event: Rwanda vs Saint Helena, Botswana vs Lesotho, Seychelles vs Mali and Kenya vs Malawi.

In the match between Rwanda and Saint Helena, Rwanda won the game by 54 runs. Rwanda had won the toss and elected to bat first. They made 130/8 in 20 overs batting first in the game. Eric Dusingizimana scored 52(43) in the game and is also the top scorer for the team in the game. Andrew Yon from Saint Helena was the highest wicket-taker from the team with 4 wickets against the host Rwanda. Saint Helena was able to make only 76 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs when they came to bat second in the game. Aiden Leo, who made 24 runs off 33 balls was the top run-scorer for the team in the game. From Rwanda, Emmanuel Sebareme took three wickets in the game to be the highest wicket-taker for the team in the game.

In the match between Botswana and Lesotho, Botswana won the game by 10 wickets. Botswana had won the toss and had elected to field first in the game. Batting first, Lesotho was packed at 91 runs in 12.4 overs. Mpiti Lerotholi was the top run scorer for the team in the game. Dhruv Maisuria took a five-for in the game from Botswana. Coming to bat second in the game to chase the target of 92 runs, Botswana started with the openers Karabo Motlhanka and Reginald Nehonde. The openers made 54(23) and 28(25) respectively to help the team win the game by 10 wickets. While Lesotho used five bowlers in the game, none of them could take a wicket in the game before Botswana’s openers booked the win for their team.

The match between Seychelles and Mali got abandoned when Mali was at 14/2 in 4.1 overs while chasing the target of 163 runs set by Seychelles for them. Thiwanka Rajapaksha made 49 runs off 49 balls to be the top scorer for Seychelles in the game. Mamadou Samba Diawara was the only wicket-taking bowler for Mali in the game. Before the game got abandoned, Mali had started their inning with Mahamadou Taifour Diaby and Mohamed Coulibaly. The openers were out at 9 and 3 runs respectively. Lassina Berthe was the batsman in the field from Mali before the match got abandoned. Sohail Rana Rocket and Krishna Naidoo took a wicket in the game for Seychelles before the match got abandoned.

The match between Kenya and Malawi was also abandoned. Kenya had made 209/6 in 20 overs to set the target of 210 runs to Malawi. While Malawi was chasing the target, they were at 11/0 in 3.1 overs before the match got abandoned. Collins Obuya was the top run scorer for Kenya in the game with 44 runs off 16 balls. Sami Sohail took two wickets for Malawi to be the most wicket-taking bowler in the game for the team. Malawi had started the second inning with Donnex Kansonkho and Gift Kansonkho. They were at 7(13) and 4(6) respectively before the game got abandoned. Shem Ngoche and Vraj Patel were the only bowlers from Kenya to bowl in the game before the game got abandoned.
