The wicketkeeper-batter expressed his confidence in his team’s balance and believes that they have a good chance of performing well in the tournament. He acknowledged that the PSL has become a top-notch brand, attracting excitement from fans who are eagerly waiting for the action to commence.
Sarfaraz highlighted the importance of all departments of the game functioning seamlessly, and noted that the performance of the local players will be key to a team’s success. He expressed his satisfaction with his team’s local players, who are in good form and have recently shown promising results. Despite a disappointing performance in the previous season, Sarfaraz is optimistic about his team’s chances this year and is determined to lead them to victory.
When asked about his personal goals, Sarfaraz stated that his main focus is to do well for the team and help Quetta lift another trophy. He also hopes that the league will continue to nurture future talent for Pakistan cricket. He pointed out Abdul Wahid Bangalzai and Haseebullah Khan as players to keep an eye on during the PSL 2023. Sarfaraz credited the PSL for the recent raise of Pakistan’s T20I ranking, attributing it to the quality achieved through the league.
Also, Sarfaraz expressed his joy at seeing Saim Ayub’s growth as a quality player, but regretfully mentioned that Quetta was unable to pick him, as Zalmi snapped him up. Nevertheless, Sarfaraz expressed his personal happiness for Saim’s progress, saying that it’s always delightful to see young players grow into top professionals.
