The second match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, turns out to be a record breaking day for Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib Al Hasan becomes the leading wicket taker in the T20Is when he took the wicket of Scotland’s Michael Leask in the opening match of the T20 World Cup 2021. Shakib also known as Saqibul Hasan, surpassed Lasith Malinga’s tally of 107 wickets. The Bangladesh’s player has now 108 wickets in 89 T20Is. Shakib Al Hasan picked two wickets to go past Lasith Malinga’s record.
In August 2021, he became the first cricketer to have 100 wickets and 1,000 runs in T20I history. He has scored nine fifties and his highest score of 84 runs. His best performance with the ball was 5/20 . Shakib also recently reached the No. 1 position in the ICC’s T20I allrounders’ rankings. Bangladesh’s all-rounder is considered to be one of the greatest all-rounders of all time. He was ranked as one of the world’s most famous athletes by ESPN World Fame 100 in 2019.
