In a significant development ahead of the PSL 9 draft, the trade deal involving Shan Masood has been confirmed, aligning with earlier speculations. The seasoned cricketer is no longer a part of Multan Sultans, having been traded to Karachi Kings in exchange for Faisal Akram. This move has sparked discussions about Masood potentially taking on the captaincy role for Kings, given the departure of Imad Wasim, who has been traded to Islamabad United for Hasan Ali.
The Akram-Masood trade has brought about an exchange of valuable picks between the two franchises. Karachi Kings, in return for acquiring Shan Masood, has traded their first-round diamond pick to Multan Sultans. In addition, Kings have also exchanged their first-round silver pick for Multan’s second-round silver pick.
The Multan Sultans’ management, in their strategic moves, has secured not only Shan Masood but also the first pick in the Diamond category, the second pick in the Silver category, and the talented left-arm wrist spinner Faisal Akram. This exchange enhances the Sultans’ position and adds depth to their roster as they gear up for the upcoming season.
Karachi Kings, on the other hand, solidify their squad by securing the services of Shan Masood and strategically utilizing their draft picks. With Imad Wasim’s departure, Masood emerges as a potential candidate for leadership responsibilities, bringing experience and skill to the Kings’ camp.
As the dust settles on these trades, all eyes are now on the PSL 9 draft scheduled for December 13th at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. The anticipation is building as teams finalize their rosters, and fans eagerly await the unfolding of new chapters in the PSL saga.
