Renowned Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik expressed his anticipation to play for a new team in the upcoming third edition of the Global T20 Canada. In a statement released by the league’s management, Malik, who will be representing the Mississauga Panthers, highlighted the increased excitement of the tournament due to the participation of global stars.
Malik expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am thrilled to be a part of the Mississauga Panthers team. This year’s tournament promises even more excitement with the presence of top international stars.” The addition of the Mississauga Panthers brings the total number of participating teams to six, joining the Toronto Nationals, Brampton Wolves, Montreal Tigers, Surrey Jaguars, and Vancouver Knights.
Joining Malik in the Panthers’ squad will be fellow Pakistan players Azam Khan and Shahnawaz Dahani. The team will also feature West Indian superstar Chris Gayle, further adding to its formidable lineup.
On a different note, former West Indies cricketer Shivnarine Chanderpaul commended the Global T20 Canada for providing a platform for Canadian talents to showcase their skills. He acknowledged the presence of prominent players like Chris Gayle, Harbhajan Singh, Shahid Afridi, and Shoaib Malik across all six teams, emphasizing how this would contribute to the growth of local talent within a thriving cricket environment.
The team list for the Mississauga Panthers includes notable players such as Shoaib Malik, Chris Gayle, Azam Khan, James Neesham, Cameron Scott Delport, Shahnawaz Dahani, Zahoor Khan, Tom Cooper, Cecil Pervez, Jaskarandeep Singh Buttar, Navneet Dhaliwal, Nikhil Dutta, Shreyas Movva, Praveen Kumar, Mihir Patel, and Ethan Gibson.
