Johannesburg, 31 October 2024 – South Africa’s white-ball head coach Rob Walter has announced a 16-player squad for the upcoming Wonder Cement T20 International (T20I) series against India. The four-match series, which will be held across various venues from 8 to 15 November, marks the beginning of South Africa’s home summer.
Key Squad Inclusions and Debuts
- Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, and Keshav Maharaj return to the T20I side, bringing extensive experience and bolstering the team’s core.
- Mihlali Mpongwana (World Sports Betting Western Province all-rounder) has received his maiden call-up after an impressive showing in the CSA T20 Challenge, where he was among the top wicket-takers.
- Andile Simelane (Hollywoodbets Dolphins all-rounder) also joins the squad, bringing additional fresh talent.
- Lutho Sipamla (DP World Lions fast bowler) is included for the third and fourth T20Is, marking his return to limited-overs cricket after a standout performance in the recent CSA T20 Challenge.
Notable Absences: Kagiso Rabada has been rested, while Lungi Ngidi is engaged in a conditioning program ahead of the Test series against Sri Lanka.

Coach Rob Walter emphasized the series’ significance for preparing the team for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
