Southern Africa Cup 2023 has concluded today with Botswana being the champions of the tournament with four wins from four.
The tournament began on 27 May 2023 and ran all the way to 1 June 2023. A total of five teams participated in the tournament, namely Botswana, Mauritius, Malawi, Mozambique and Eswatini. Each of the teams played a total of four matches in the tournament. Each of them played with every other team in the tournament.
In the first match of the tournament, Mauritius win over Mozambique by 3 wickets chasing a 107 runs of target.
In the second match of the tournament. Malawi won the match by 53 runs defending a 156 runs of target against Eswatini.
In the third match of the tournament, Botswana won the match by seven wickets chasing down the target of 113 runs against Mauritius.
In the fourth match of the tournament, Malawi won the match by 9 wickets chasing a 62 runs of target against Mozambique.
In the fifth match of the tournament, Botswana won the match by 107 runs while defending a 206 runs of target against Eswatini.
In the sixth match of the tournament, Malawi won the match by 45 runs over Mauritius.
In the seventh match of the tournament, Botswana won the match by 100 runs defending a 170 runs of target against Malawi.
In the eighth match of the tournament, Mozambique won the match by 6 wickets chasing a 128 runs of target.
In the 9th match of the tournament, Botswana won the match by 7 wickets chasing 90 runs of target against Mozambique.
In the 10th and last match of the tournament, Eswatini won over Mauritius by 5 wickets chasing a 143 runs of target.
Botswana won all their matches in the tournament to be the champions of the tournament.
Botswana, Malawi and Mozambique being the top three teams of the tournament are through the ACA Africa T20 Cup from the Southern Qualifier. Three teams from Northern Qualifier and 2 Teams from Eastern Qualifier will join the teams qualified from Southern Qualifier in the ACA Africa T20 Cup.
