The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) plans to put up a grand show this February 2025 to host the prestigious Champions trophy with Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi as the host cities for the prestigious biennial event. On Sunday, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi approved new stadium designs for three major cricketing facilities: Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Stadium in Karachi, and Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium.

In a meeting during a visit to UK-based architectural firm BDP Pattern at its London office, Naqvi elaborated on the redevelopment plans with the firm’s Chairman, Chris Harding. BDP Pattern is also somewhat famous for designing over 200 international standard stadia and is engaged by the PCB to transform these venues.

The PCB has earmarked Rs 12.80 billion for the development project, for which Naqvi is personally spearheading the cause. Work on renovating the National Stadium in Karachi has already begun, and all three venues are likely to be ready well in time for the tournament.

The Champions Trophy, on the other hand, will take place between February 19 and March 9, 2025, with the qualifying period between February 12 and 18, during which time there will be warm-up matches, media activities, and promotional activities coordinated with the ICC. About $70 million has been approved by the International Cricket Council.

The renovation works are expected to have a far-reaching facility that will provide for a bigger fan base and the best of amenities that would confirm to the world that Pakistan is the best to host the championship. Satisfied with the performance crafted so far and still standing committed to complete the works on time for the upgrades, Naqvi and co are ready against the nature of challenges.
