The 5th and 6th matches of the BPL featured today conclude between Sylhet Strikers vs. Comilla Victorians and Chattogram Challengers vs. Khulna Tigers. The Sylhet Strikers and Chattogram Challengers won their respective matches in the 5th and 6th match of the BPL.
The first match of the day was played at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium and featured the Sylhet Strikers against the Comilla Victorians.
The Sylhet Strikers won the toss and elected to bowl first. In the first match of the day, the Comilla Victorians managed to score 149 runs in their 20 overs while batting first. Jaker Ali 57(43) was the top run contributor for the team. In an entertaining encounter, the Sylhet Strikers ultimately came out on top, securing a victory.
Mohammad Amir and Thisara Perera took two wickets each for the Sylhet Strikers, while Mashrafe Mortaza and Imad Wasim took one wicket each. In the second match, Khulna Tigers vs Chattogram Challengers faced off at Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, with Chattogram Challengers winning the toss and electing to field first.
Khulna Tigers managed to post a competitive total of 178/5 at the end of their 20 overs, with Azam Khan and Tamim Iqbal scoring 40 (37), and 109 (58), respectively. In this match, we see a first century in BPL season 9.
Abu Jayed took 3 wickets. Shuvagata Hom, Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, and Ziaur Rahman each took one wicket for the Chattogram Challengers.In reply, the Sylhet Strikers managed to chase down a target of 179/1 in 19 overs and win the game by 9 wickets. Usman Khan made 103 runs off 58 balls for the team, and Zakir Hasan made a 58(50) responsive inning for the Strikers.
