The Nottinghamshire Outlaws have added an exciting boost to their squad for the ongoing 2023 T20 Vitality Blast as they have signed Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim. Imad, who previously represented the Outlaws in the 2019 and 2020 seasons of the T20 Blast, will now reunite with his fellow countryman Shaheen Shah Afridi at the county.
The acquisition of Imad comes at a crucial time for the Outlaws, as they aim to strengthen their campaign in the tournament. He will be available for the team’s last two group stage matches and, if they secure qualification, for the quarterfinal stage as well. This signing fills the void left by the injuries of Colin Munro and Samit Patel, who are sidelined for at least the next two group-stage matches.
In a recent exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Imad shared his plans and aspirations for the remainder of his cricketing career. He expressed his desire to enjoy both batting and bowling, stating that these upcoming years are crucial for him to express himself on the field in a different and enjoyable manner.
Imad said, “My batting form hasn’t dipped, and it’s the same. I am enjoying both batting and bowling right now, to be very honest. These are my last four to five years, where I want to enjoy cricket and express it in a different way. So this is what I am trying, and things have been going exactly as I want them to be. I will try my level best to continue this, improve it even more, and bring more brilliance to both of my fortes.”
With 66 T20I appearances under his belt, Imad has showcased his skills by taking 64 wickets so far. His experience and versatility make him a valuable asset to the Nottinghamshire Outlaws as they aim for success in the T20 Blast.
The addition of Imad Wasim to the Nottinghamshire squad adds depth and firepower to their lineup, and fans can anticipate an electrifying performance from this talented all-rounder.
