So, let’s start:

1) Najmul Hossain Shanto

Set to lead the Tigers, the young player has already made his impact in the shortest format. At a tender age of 25, Najmul Hossain Shanto has represented Bangladesh in 39 T20Is. Batting in 37 innings, he boasts 796 runs at an average of 24.87 and a strike-rate of 109.64.

Shanto is yet to make a T20I century but has four fifties in the format, with a highest score of 71. While he shares a decent record in the format, the recent series against the USA did not go as expected for him. He collected only 39 runs from three matches.

2) Shoriful Islam

Shoriful Islam, the 22-year-old left-arm medium pacer has featured in 40 T20I innings for the country. With a best of 3/21, he has already gathered 46 wickets in the format averaging 24.23 at an economy of 8.14.

Out of three, he played two matches in the recently concluded series versus the USA, and bagged three wickets. He can be one of the five Bangladesh players to watch during the upcoming T20 World Cup.

3) Mohammad Mahmudullah

Mohammad Mahmudullah is one of the experienced players in Bangladesh’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. The 38-year-old all-rounder has 2299 T20I runs from 120 T20I innings averaging 24.20 at a strike rate of 119.05.

Mahmudullah’s highest score of 64* in the format solidifies his place as a middle-order batter, also useful with the bowl. He has 39 wickets from 72 innings in the format along with a notable experience across various leagues.

4) Litton Das

Litton Das will not only be useful as a batter for Bangladesh but also will show his reflexes behind the stumps. He has a vast T20 experience including 80 T20I appearances and amassing 1804 runs at an average of 23.12.

Das, with a strike rate of 128.12, can solidify Bangladesh’s inning when needed given his highest score standing at 83. Notably, he has smashed eight fifties in the format so far since his debut in 2015.

5) Mustafizur Rahman

The 28-year-old fast bowler is one of the Bangladesh players with substantial T20 experience. Out of 254 T20 matches, he has represented Bangladesh on 96 occasions. Out of these 96, Rahman missed bowling in only one match and his wicket tally stands strong at 120.

His best spell includes a six-wicket haul for 10 runs which came vs USA recently. The pacer has two five-wicket hauls to his name and four four-wicket hauls. It would not be wrong to add him to the list of the top 5 Bangladesh players to watch in the World Cup.
