Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam broke another record held by India’s Virat Kohli. Babar became the fastest batsman to reach 2,500 runs in T20Is on Thursday. Azam broke his counterpart’s record during the semi-final match between Pakistan and Australia in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Babar reached the landmark in 62 innings while Kohli had taken 68 innings.
Babar Azam has scored 2507 runs at an average of 49.02 with the help of a century and 24 half-centuries. Australia’s captain Aaron Finch is on third followed by New Zealand opener Martin Guptill with 78 and 83 innings respectively. Captain Babar Azam became the second Pakistani, after Mohammad Hafeez, to go past 2,500 T20I runs while batting in the T20 World Cup semi-final against the Kangaroos in Dubai.
Babar Azam scored 39 runs off 34 balls against the Aussies. Pakistan bagged its first lost match against Australia and is out of the race of the T20 World Cup final. Australia won the match against Pakistan by five wickets.
