Tanzania produced a clinical all-round performance to dismantle Bahrain by 10 wickets in the final of the 2025 Quadrangular Twenty20 Series held in Malawi, sealing the title with emphatic authority at the TCA Oval in Blantyre.
Bahrain Folded for 89
After losing the toss and being asked to bat, Bahrain’s innings never got going. They stumbled to 89 all out in 19 overs, with only Junaid Aziz (28 off 36) offering any resistance.
Tanzania’s bowlers were relentless. Salum Jumbe was the standout, taking 3/18 including the key wickets of Asif Ali, Fiaz Ahmed, and captain Ahmer Bin Nasir. He was well supported by Ally Kimote (3/12) and Laksh Bakrania (2/16), while Kassim Nassoro chipped in with a maiden over and a crucial run-out.
Bahrain’s batting collapses were frequent, with three wickets falling inside the first two overs and the middle order unable to recover. The innings never gained traction, hampered by poor shot selection and sharp Tanzanian fielding.
Yadav, Mehta Make Light Work of Chase
In reply, Arun Yadav and Dhrumit Mehta turned the chase into a procession. With freedom and flair, the Tanzanian openers chased down the target of 90 in just 10.1 overs without losing a wicket.
Yadav was the aggressor, smashing 48 off 32 balls*, including 4 fours and 3 sixes, while Mehta played the perfect foil with a fluent 36 off 29*, striking seven boundaries.
Tanzania’s 10-wicket win, with nearly 10 overs to spare, highlighted their dominance throughout the series and capped off a flawless final.
