Thomas Draca becomes the first Italian cricketer to register for an IPL auction as the stage to finalize squads is all set to take place on November 24th and 25th. Draca, a promising fast bowler, will be up for grabs by all ten franchises of the Indian Premier League IPL auction. Marking the historic moment in the world of Italian cricket, this talented fast bowler is first to sign for the league from the country.

Among the 1,574 players who registered for the IPL 2025 mega auction scheduled for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a 24-year-old seamer Draca has tagged himself under the all-rounder category, with a base price of INR 30 Lakh.

Draca has also been in the lime light lately with his recent innings in the Global T20 Canada 2024. He could finish as the joint second-highest wicket-taker, taking 11 wickets in six matches at an economy rate of 6.88. Then there was the showpiece against Surrey, where four overs yielded 3 for 18.

Draca has quickly emerged to be one of the frontline players for Italy since making his international debut for the country in June 2024. So far, in four T20Is, he has picked up eight wickets at an economy rate of 4.25.

As the IPL 2025 auction approaches, franchises will closely watch Draca and decide whether he should be a part of their squads. This means that the Italian speedster is included in the auction as the global appeal of the IPL grows, and the opportunities for cricketers from diverse backgrounds grow to show their talent on the world stage.
