2016 was the year when Pakistan started its own Franchise based T20 League named as PAKISTAN SUPER LEAGUE(PSL). PSL was very doubtful even from its start due to other leagues in the world which were not a success after first or second editions like Bangladesh premier league & Sri Lankan premier league. Both of these leagues couldnāt survive due to corruption & financial issues respectively.
In 2016 when PSL has to happen then every cricket fan and many of the analysts were not sure about its future that it will sustain the modern way of T20 franchise-based cricket rules and regulations smoothly along with profitable years as IPL was the lone Franchise based T20 league along with domestic T20 Tournaments of Australia (Big Bash League) and England (T20 Blast). Pakistan super league first season started on 4 February in Dubai and that was the beginning of an era of T20 Franchise cricket for Pakistan.
Pakistan cricket board faced much crisis due to low attendance of fans at the stadium in Sharjah and Dubai but that was on cards when you start a league overseas without home grounds and crowds. At the start, many sponsors were confused to invest in PSL but they took small steps and small investments to see where this league stands after few years.
Quality of cricket and PSL standards were very high from the starts of its first season which are the major stars in building this league as a bug brand for Pakistan and is the identity of the passion of people of Pakistan for cricket. PCB sell the title sponsor to HBL at 25 Crore per year for 3 years. All deals and bids were done for 3 years. Now 3 years have been completed and all deals and fresh bids will be done. Many of those sponsors which were confused at the start of this league that it will flourish or not will now be waiting for bids and deals opening because now PSL has become a big brand and its time that PSL will cash money and this money will also benefit all the stakeholders and sponsors because is an identity now world Wide.
PSL TV rights were sold for 3 years and these rights will also be renewed through bidding and its high likely that PCB will get high money almost 3 to 4 times than the last 3 years. A major success of PSL was to come back home in Pakistan and it has happened in last 2 years with 4 matches in Pakistan and next year will be a real PSL show in Pakistan with almost 16 games in Pakistan.
16 Games will mean all the franchises will easily get the 4th time of the first 3 PSL combined income that will be huge cashing for the Franchises who have been rather silent on less income every year. So it can be easily estimated that its time now for PSL franchises and PCB to get all the benefits and the success of this league is obviously in making money as much as PCB and the other owners can. Fingers crossed for another action-packed PSL 4 season coming in FEB 2019.
According to authentic reports PCB earned twice from 3 Matches in Pakistan of PSL3 than all games held in UAE. That is a huge success back home because every league is a success when home fans show their interest. Happy times coming up for fans and PCB in next PSL where 16 Games will happen in Pakistan.
