Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Record-Breaking Journey Continues with Bowling Milestone

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s record just keeps getting richer. Known for rewriting history with the bat, the teenage prodigy has now made headlines with the ball, becoming the youngest Indian to take a wicket in a Youth Test match. At just 14 years of age, the rising star continues to add new chapters to an already remarkable cricketing journey.

While fans have come to expect fireworks from Suryavanshi’s bat, this time it was his left-arm spin that stole the spotlight. During the first Youth Test against England U19, Vaibhav bowled 13 disciplined overs and took two crucial wickets, including that of England U19 captain Hamza Shaikh, who was well set on 84 before falling to a full toss from the young Indian.

The wicket not only broke a solid partnership but also broke a four-year-old national record, previously held by Manishi, who had achieved a similar feat against South Africa U19 in 2019. Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s record now includes this significant bowling milestone, adding to his reputation as a multi-dimensional cricketer.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Record Makes Him More Than Just a Young Batting Sensation

Having first caught the spotlight as the youngest centurion in youth cricket, and later replicating the feat in the IPL, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s record book continues to expand across formats. On the ongoing U19 tour of England, he topped the run charts in the ODI series, and now, in the red-ball format, he’s proving just as impactful with the ball.

Though he managed only 14 runs in the first innings of the Youth Test, India still posted a mammoth 540, thanks to Ayush Mhatre’s century and crucial middle-order runs. Suryavanshi will be eager to make amends in the second innings with the bat, and if his career so far is any indicator, it would be unwise to bet against him doing so.

With both bat and ball now in his arsenal, the 14-year-old prodigy is quickly turning into one of the brightest prospects in Indian cricket
