India’s former captain, Virat Kohli has finally scored his 71st International century against Afghanistan in Asia Cup. The star player, Virat Kohli last scored an international century against Bangladesh in a Pink Ball Test on November 23, 2019. This is also Kohli’s very first 100 for India in T20 Internationals.
The 33-year-old player, Kohli has been in fabulous form ever since he returned from a break. In the absence of the Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli came to open the innings for India with KL Rahul. Kohli got his 33rd half-century in just 32 balls. He reached his maiden T20I century with a sensational six to Fareed Ahmed. He reached his 71st century in just 53 balls.
Kohli’s score of 122 against Afghanistan included 12 fours and 6 huge sixes. It took Virat Kohli 1,021 days and 83 innings to score his much-awaited 71st century but it was worth the wait. The curse is finally broken for King Kohli. Now, Virat Kohli’s fans can finally say that “the King is back with a bang.”
Afghanistan won the toss but after that, it was all India. India scored a total of 212/2 against Afghanistan after 20 overs. However, Virat’s century will bring a huge sigh of relief to all his fans including the Indian team management ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022.
