Virat Kohli has been named the highest tax-paying cricketer in India for the financial year 2024, according to Fortune India. The former Indian captain paid a staggering INR 66 crore in taxes, making him the fifth-highest contributor among Indian celebrities across all sectors. Kohli’s substantial earnings come from a combination of his cricketing contracts, endorsements, and business ventures, solidifying his position as one of India’s wealthiest sports personalities.
In a surprise omission, India’s current ODI and Test captain, Rohit Sharma, did not make it into the top 20 highest tax-paying celebrities, despite his significant earnings from the game and endorsements.
