In a thrilling encounter at the Champions One-Day Cup 2024, the Markhors defeated the Stallions by a commanding 126 runs on September 15, 2024, at the Faisalabad venue. The match, which showcased a remarkable performance by Babar Azam, saw the Pakistan white-ball captain single-handedly attempt to chase down a challenging target of 232 runs.

Babar Azam back in form is leading the Stallions – He exhibited a display of mastery with the bat, particularly in the seventh over when he struck five consecutive boundaries off Shahnawaz Dahani. This impressive feat came as the Stallions were struggling at 13/1 in the fifth over, making Babar’s innings even more crucial. Despite starting cautiously, Babar transformed his innings, scoring a rapid 45 runs off 45 balls, including eight boundaries.

Dahani, who was on the receiving end of Babar’s blistering over, took to social media to share a video of the striking performance, praising Babar’s skill. While some fans criticized Dahani for his post, others applauded his sportsmanship. Dahani expressed admiration for Babar, acknowledging how effortlessly he played those shots.

Unfortunately for the Stallions, Babar’s dismissal at 45 marked the beginning of their collapse, as they were eventually bowled out for 105. The Markhors capitalized on the opportunity, with their bowlers dominating the latter stages of the match.

Despite the defeat, Babar Azam remains a standout performer in the tournament, ranking as the third-highest run-scorer with 121 runs at an average of 60.50. His performance in the tournament continues to be a highlight, maintaining his reputation as a consistent and formidable batsman
