St. Lucia Kings’ wicket-keeper batter Tim Seifert played a match-winning cameo, smashing 24 runs off a single over from Pakistan’s Mohammad Amir to seal a seven-wicket victory against the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons in the CPL 2024 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. The win marked the fourth consecutive loss for the Falcons, led by Chris Green.
Batting first, Antigua & Barbuda Falcons managed a modest total of 142/7. In response, the Faf du Plessis-led St. Lucia Kings were in a comfortable position at 116/3 by the 12th over when Seifert arrived at the crease. Needing just a few finishing touches to secure the victory, Seifert made sure to end the match in style.
Mohammad Amir was given the responsibility to bowl the 17th over, having already conceded 21 runs from his previous three overs. Seifert greeted the left-arm seamer with back-to-back sixes, followed by a boundary. After a couple of singles, Seifert wrapped up the game with another towering six, taking 24 runs from the over.
Amir finished with figures of 0-45, continuing his rough patch in the CPL 2024, where he has managed only one wicket in four matches, with an economy rate of 10.25.
