The 16th Match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 concluded just now with West Indies Women taking a 3-run victory over Pakistan Women.
In the match, West Indies Women won the toss and elected to bat first.
Batting first, West Indies Women were able to make 116 runs at the loss of 6 wickets from their inning. Rashada Williams made 30 runs in 34 balls to be the most run scorer for the team in the game. Shemaine Campbelle followed Rashada with 22 runs in 26 balls followed by Hayley Matthews with 20 runs in 21 balls.
Nida Dar was the most successful bowler from Pakistan Women in the match with 2 wickets in her name. Sadia Iqbal, Fatima Sana, Nashra Sandhu and Tuba Hassan were the other bowlers from the team to take wickets in the match. Each one of them took a wicket. Pakistan Women conceded 6 extras to West Indies Women while bowling.
Pakistan Women made 113 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Aliya Riaz was the batter to score the most runs for Pakistan Women in the match with 29 runs off 23 balls. Nida Dar with 27(31) and Bismah Maroof with 26(33) in batting followed Aliya Riaz respectively.
Hayley Matthews took two wickets for West Indies Women in the match and remained the most wicket-taking bowler for the team in the match. Shamilia Connell, Karishma Ramharack and Afy Fletcher also took a wicket each for the team in the match. West Indies Women conceded 8 extras to Pakistan Women while bowling.
Hayley Matthews was the Player of the Match for her 20(21) in batting and 2/14 in bowling.
After the win, West Indies Women now has 4 points in the points table and are ranked 3rd.
