The round-robin stage of the Pakistan Super League’s ninth edition ended with a thrilling match between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators. The action now shifts towards the PSL 2024 playoffs as all the top four places have been decided.
While Multan Sultans became the first team to qualify for the playoffs, they also ended the league stage with a win over Quetta. Having a total of seven wins gives them 14 points placing them at the top of the table. They are set to lock horns with Peshawar Zalmi in the Qualifier.
Notably, Babar Azam and co were the second team to enter PSL 2024 playoffs. With the conclusion of the round-robin stage, they have maintained second place with 13 points.
Shadab Khan’s Islamabad United were the third side to qualify for PSL 2024 playoffs. They have finished as the third-placed team on the PSL 2024 leaderboard with 11 points, followed by the Gladiators with the same tally, however, the Gladiators have a slightly inferior net run rate.
The Sherus and the Purple Force will clash on March 15th in the Eliminator 1. The winner will once again have to prove their mettle and will face off against the losers of Qualifier in the Eliminator 2. On the other hand, the winners of the Qualifier will directly get a ticket for the finals. The team winning the Eliminator 2 will then progress to the final, slated for March 18th.
