LAHORE: The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has postponed the announcement of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad due to concerns about the selection process.

Sources indicate that Naqvi is dissatisfied because proper meetings were not conducted before finalizing the squad. While he does not object to the players selected, Naqvi has requested clarification from the selection committee members. He noted that the minutes from their meetings were not shared with him, contributing to his dissatisfaction.

The squad announcement will be delayed until the selection committee completes the necessary procedures. Sources suggest this process will be finalized within the next three hours, after which the squad will be announced. The deadline for the squad announcement is May 25, and any changes post-deadline will require approval from the ICC’s Event Technical Committee.
